The Medical Laboratory Technician can identify samples of biological material or other materials under examination, assess their quality for required laboratory tests or other purposes and ensure their processing, storage, and subsequent disposal, operate laboratory equipment and ensure its routine maintenance, prepare materials necessary for laboratory and diagnostic activities, ensuring the correct storage of laboratory chemicals and kits and checking their expiration date, taking samples in relation with the protection of public health, receiving, checking, handling and storing medicinal products and ensuring their adequate supply, receiving, checking and storing medical devices, handling them and ensuring their disinfection and sterilization.
