Graduates of the follow-up Demography Master’s degree study programme gain an understanding of demographic concepts and methods, are able to analyse, assess and interpret trends in the population development, identify its factors and evaluate its consequences, to use demographic models in projections of future demographic development and suggest population policy strategies. They also obtain at least a basic user knowledge of statistical software. Graduates are able to work in the public administration sector as well as in the private sector. Graduates are also qualified to work in the field of the science and research related to human populations. In addition, the follow-up Master’s degree study programme provides the ideal starting point for the study of demography at the doctoral level.
