Annotation
Study of the General medicine lasts six years. During the first three years, The study of medicine payes attention to the education in theoretical disciplines such as anatomy, biophysics, medical biology, medical genetics, histology, embryology, physiology, medical chemistry and biochemistry and medical microbiology. The following education is continuing with pre-clinical disciplines like pathological physiology, immunology, pathological anatomy, pharmacology. Since first year, the education is oriented also to the practical skills in the care of patients including the first aidand nursing. The clinical propaedeutic starts in the second year, and clinical education continues with the start of internal medicine study in the third year. The fourth year is oriented mainly in the clinical disciplines, but the important space has also the preventive medicine, the support of the population´s health and medical law. Block education of the specialized clinical disciplines takes place in the fifth year. During the sixth year, the student acquires the deeper practical skills in the practical education In departments and ambulances. The teaching program runs also in English for self-paying students, using the identical study plan. The study is completed by the promotional act in the Carolinum in Prague Charles University Campus, where the students obtain the diploma. The absolvent of the study program General Medicine acquires theacademic title MUDr. (Medicinae Universae Doctor). Students are prepared for occupation of the medical praxis, but also they have possibility to acquire knowledges and skills for research and they are led to perform their own research work. During the studies, the students have opportunities to practice abroad in other countries.
